Dr. James P. Murphy, DDS

A native New Yorker, Dr. James P. Murphy is a highly regarded dentist with a long-standing commitment to patient care and education. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Manhattan College in 1980, followed by a Doctor of Dental Surgery from Columbia University College of Dental Medicine in 1984. At Murphy Dental NYC, Dr. Murphy leads a dedicated team focused on providing comprehensive and personalized dental care.
After completing his residency at Lenox Hill Hospital, Dr. Murphy remained on staff there until 2003. From 1985 to 1992, he also served as an instructor at Columbia University’s College of Dental Medicine, mentoring the next generation of dental professionals.
A dedicated member of the dental community, Dr. Murphy is affiliated with the First District Dental Society, the New York State Dental Society, and the American Dental Association (ADA). He is also a distinguished member of the New York Academy of Dentistry.
Beyond his dental practice, Dr. Murphy is committed to advocacy, serving on the Guardianship Committee for AHRC New York City, supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
After raising his family in Armonk, NY, Dr. Murphy moved to New York City in 2018, where he continues to make significant contributions to both his profession and his community.

Robin graduated from the Forsyth School of Dental Hygiene in Boston, MA and has been delivering exceptional hygiene care for over 25 years. Patients throughout Lenox Hill know Robin for her gentle touch, her genuine warmth, and her ability to make even the most anxious patients feel completely at ease. She is deeply passionate about preventive oral health and takes the time to educate every patient on maintaining a healthy smile between visits.
